Counseling with Compassion

I believe in the inherent strength within each individual to heal and grow.

Hi, My name is Cherilyn Schutze, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in practice for over 12 years. I specialize in anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and grief. I work collaboratively with you to help you learn new ways of thinking and coping. I specialize in helping people navigate life challenges, and in the treatment of anxiety, trauma, and grief, with a focus on attachment. I am certified in anxiety treatment and offer EMDR.

Let's be real: Your most crucial relationship
is the one you have with yourself.

How you speak to yourself matters. Do you ever stop and consider if you treat yourself as kindly as you do others? Many of us struggle with an internal dialogue that's overly critical, judgmental, and unforgiving. Sound familiar? Maybe you find yourself:

• Being tougher on yourself than you would ever be on others

• Setting impossible standards that leave you feeling constantly disappointed

• Over-giving to avoid conflict, even at the cost of your own well-being

• Feeling unfulfilled and drained, seeking answers through worry and control

• Wondering why life seems effortless for everyone else while you're left feeling lost and exhausted

If any of this resonates with you, you're not alone. People come to me often feeling disconnected, burned out, and exhausted from constantly battling the nagging, critical voice in their heads. Often, it’s affecting their relationships with others too, leaving them feeling judged and isolated.

But here's the thing: Finding balance, fulfillment, and peace in your life is possible. You don't have to keep struggling. I'm here to guide you through a transformative journey of self-discovery and growth. Together, we'll explore your past, heal old wounds, and shift your thought patterns to create the life and relationships you truly deserve. I offer a compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental space where we can work collaboratively to ignite healing and hope. Let's heal your relationship with yourself so that your relationships with others can flourish too.

Take the first step towards a brighter future. Let's work together to empower you to thrive. Schedule your appointment today, and let's embark on this journey towards healing and fulfillment.

Hope. Heal. Transform.

  • Finding Beauty in the Pain

When we reframe that way of thinking and living, face our adversities with courage and curiosity, we can find hope and meaning in the struggle.

  • Codependency

Many of us have a tendency to want to protect or prevent others from negative feelings, thoughts and behaviors, with the hope that it will prevent us from experiencing negative feelings in return. The truth is, it doesn’t work like that.

  • The Wise Mind

Wise Mind brings emotion and logic into balance. “It creates a feeling of “knowing” what’s right, a felt sense or a shift in the body—bringing with it a sense of greater presence, openness, peace, and clarity.”

  • Deactivate Those Old Recordings

When people don’t get their emotional needs met, it can lead to feelings of mistrust, abandonment and insecurity. This is especially true when childhood needs are not tended to, which can result in childhood attachment wounds.
